Our certified timber is your assurance of 100% legal and sustainable sourcing.
Timber from well managed woodlands is a natural, renewable raw material.
The forest environment is a natural ecological habitat and a carbon sink, filtering CO2 from the air and absorbing it into the biomass of the trees, under-story, plants and soil.
Choosing certified timber for building work, furniture making or joinery actively negates environmental problems such as climate change, ecosystem destruction and landscape deterioration caused by deforestation.
We source and supply timber certified under by 3 different certifying bodies, GiB, PEFC & FSC® and we are audited annually on our supply chain and our chain-of-custody of ‘legal and sustainable’ timber.

GiB Chain of Custody
We’re also actively involved in Grown in Britain, an initiative to support the UK forestry & timber industry.
We were the first timber supplier to sign up the Grown in Britain chain of custody licensing scheme and we use the Grown in Britain certification to label our British grown timber.
Our Grown in Britain stock is sourced from forests felled under license from the Forestry Commission or as part of a management plan agreed in accordance with the UK Woodland Assurance Standard (UKWAS). This standard provides the central component of the forest certification programmes operated in the UK by the FSC® & PSFC™ schemes. Visit the Grown in Britain website to find out more.

We hold chain of custody timber certification for Programme for Endorsement of Forest Cerification (PEFC) schemes CU-PEFC-805623 which accompanies our structural timber including the fresh sawn oak beams and posts and the seasoned stock.
The PEFC is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) through independent third-party certification.

The FSC® is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.
